This tour will be an unforgettable experience because it is full of fantastic sceneries; you will meet kind people and learn their customs. You will also taste their delicious cuisine based on grains and fish.
Uros floating islands. – We will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the harbor. At about 7:15 am we will board the ships and we will head towards the Uros floating islands located in the Titicaca lake National Reserve which is well known for having the highest sailable lake in the world. During the trip you will see a fantastic panoramic view of the lake. Once on the Uros islands, a specialized guide will give an explanation about the floating islands and their inhabitants, the Uros. You will be able to see and share a moment with them. Right now there are 75 islands; each one is well organized allowing the Uros people to keep their culture and traditions. They perform the artisanal fishing, capturing species like the “pejerrey and carachi”. The Uros people also hunt wild birds and collect duck eggs.
The natural Island of Taquile. – We will sail approximately two hours to the island of Taquile. During this journey you will see the mountain chain (Cordillera Real). Thanks to their organization, people from Taquile showed their high expertise in textiles and were awarded by UNESCO. The inhabitants of Taquile start learning to produce textiles when they are 8 years old. Life in Taquile preserves its culture and traditions, making this place even more attractive. This visit will take approximately 2 hours and we will have one hour to taste a delicious typical lunch. Finally we will head back to the city of Puno and we will arrive at about 17:00.
