Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arequipa – Base Camp (4,700m)
We will pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa and travel by private transportation to the base of the Misti volcano at 3,300 m.a.s.l. As we begin our hike, we will cross various altitude zones, observing the unique local flora. We will establish our base camp at 4,700 m. After setting up, you will enjoy an unforgettable view of the “White City” under the stars. In the evening, we will have dinner while listening to local legends and historical stories about the sacred Misti and its neighbor, Chachani.
Day 2: Base Camp – Summit Crater – Arequipa
Our day begins very early with a substantial breakfast before starting the final ascent. The climb takes approximately 6 hours, offering increasingly clear views of the surrounding mountains. Once at the summit, you will have unbeatable views of the Chachani and Picchu Picchu volcanoes, Aguada Blanca, and Salinas Lake. On clear days, you can even spot the Pacific Ocean in the distance. After exploring the perfectly shaped crater, we begin a fun descent through volcanic ash and sand back to base camp. After packing up, we continue to our pick-up point and return to Arequipa by 4:00 p.m.
