Overview
On the South Valley Tour we will visit Tipon which is characterized by its Incan Architecture, Pikillacta with its Pre-Incan Architecture, and Andahuaylillas that has a church known as the “Sistine Chapel of America”. To make this tour more attractive, on our journey we can taste the local delicious cuisine in places like Saylla, Huasao, and Tipon.

Full Itinerary
Tipon:
We will start our tour visiting Tipon that its main characteristic is the irrigation system that is still used for agriculture. It is also a big agricultural area with 12 impressive terraces that are cultivated nowadays. The terrace walls were built with stones carved finely.
Pikillacta:
Is a big metropolis that belong to the time of development of the Wari Empire, it has more than one thousand buildings within squares, colcas (supply depots), canchas or houses, temples, and long and narrow streets. Some of the buildings had up to four floors. Then we will continue the tour towards Andahuaylillas.
Andahuaylillas:
This is a Colonial small typical Andean Village that has a peculiar origin and architecture. In Andahuaylillas the main sight is the Colonial Catholic Temple known as the Sistine Chapel of Cusco. This church has 17th and 18th century paintings and decorations.
Note: Returning to Cusco we will go through Typical Cusquenian Towns like Tipon, Huasao, and Saylla where you can enjoy some delicious dishes, for example Chicharrones (Fried Pork), Cuy al Horno (roasted guinea pig), Chiriuchu (Cusco Typical Dish), and many other local courses (optional). We will arrive to Cusco at approximately 15:30.
